The Canadian 6-Digit Postal Code / FSALDU (Forward Sortation Area Local Delivery Unit) File is a comprehensive dataset with over 835,000 Postal Codes. This postal product offers the most current and accurate cartographic representation of postal code information in Canada. Combined with GIS Software applications, the file allows you to analyze your data at the Postal Code level of geography. Each postal code in Canada is represented by a point of real world latitude and longitude coordinates. Each postal code in Canada is represented by points, according to Canada Post Corporations street address referencing system. The dataset is current and regularily updated on a bi-monthly basis. The 6-Digit Postal Code in Canada is in Alpha Numeric Format (ie. A2A 2A2).

Canadian FSA / Forward Sortation Area Boundaries
The Canadian FSA / Forward Sortation Area Boundaries File contains the geographic polygon boundary for Canada's Forward Sortation Areas (FSAs). FSA boundary files allow you to analyze your data at the FSA level of geography. All postal codes in Canada coorespond or lie within a larger FSA Boundary. The first three characters of the postal code represent the Forward Sortation Area they belong to. FSAs are delineated / determined based on volume of mail.The first letter of the FSA indicates a province, territory or other major Postal Sector of mailing. The second letter of the Postal Code indicates whether the address falls in a rural or urban area. In Canada there are approximately 1,475 FSAs. The FSA file is updated on an annual basis. Data File Variables: FSA Name Identifier, Distribution Centre Name, Latitude / Longitude Coordinate and Province Code.

The TeleAtlas/Dynamap ZIP+4 Centroids contains more than 62 million deliverable USPS ZIP+4 records and census block correspondence. This cartographic dataset is based on and marries current data from the USPS ZIP+4 records, the U.S. Bureau of the Census Data, latitude / longitude coordintes and Street Segment records in the TeleAtlas Master Street database.

Code-Point® / Ordnance Survey UK Postcodes
Code-Point® provides a precise geographical location for each postcode unit in the United Kingdom, prescribed by the Royal Mail®. There are approximately 1.7 million postcode units in England, Scotland and Wales, with Northern Ireland's BT postal area accounting for approximately 46,900 postcodes. Each postcode unit, such as KY12 8UP or PO14 2RS, contains an average of fifteen adjoining addresses. Code-Point includes Gridlink®data. Gridlink is a consortium initiative involving a number of government agencies that have cooperated to improve the consistency and quality of spatially referenced, postcode-based data.

Code-Point polygons are produced by tessellating individual address records from ADDRESS-POINT®, they are then nested within the sector boundaries prescribed by Royal Mail®. Code-Point polygons enclose every fully matched address in the correct boundary and are significantly more accurate than previous products of this type. It provides a precise geographical location for each postcode unit in Great Britain. There are approximately 1.7 million postcode units in England, Scotland and Wales. Each postcode unit, such as KY12 8UP or PO14 2RS, contains an average of fifteen adjoining addresses.
