Information Collection, Use and Sharing

When you visit our site, the following non-personally identifiable information is automatically obtained and compiled: Internet Protocol (IP) address, the domain name registry information associated with the IP address, the internet browser being used, operating system and hardware platform, the date and time of your visit, the name and address (URL) of the web page you viewed immediately prior to accessing the current page, the query / gateway you used in a search engine which linked you to our site data. This information is stored in log files on the web server.

If your browser is not configured to prevent disclosure of such information, the following information may also be revealed: your name, e-mail address, home and work addresses, telephone and fax numbers and any plain text commentary. Additionally, the complete record of your actions at the web site including all pages visited, time spent at each page, the information sent or received and the names of all files uploaded or downloaded are available. This tracking information is not compiled by us or aggregated and made available to third parties primarily to identify demographic data regarding our customers. It is important to note that IP addresses do not necessarily reveal the identity of an individual visitor. Since most individuals connect through an internet service provider (ISP) at work or at home, the IP address would identify the ISP and not that actual person. Users should refer to these specific instructions accompanying their browsers to ensure that personal information is not automatically being provided without their agreement.

JavaScript

JavaScript is a programming language / program that are mostly used in web pages, usually to add features that make the web page more interactive (i.e. a web page such as an alert box, letting you know if you've filled out a form properly or not). When JavaScript is included in an HTML file it relies upon the browser to interpret the JavaScript. When JavaScript is combined with Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), and later versions of HTML (4.0 and later) the result is often called DHTML.

Security of Personal Information

Your sensitive personal data and payment processing information is protected both online and offline. The latest Transport Layer Security (TLS) version 1.1 is used by us and our payment card accounts to collect sensitive personal data, transmit and process payments online. As of September 30, 2017, the Payment Card Industry Security Standards Counsel (PCI SSC), mandated the new TLS version 1.1 encryption standard for both Internet browser access and Application Program Interface (API) integrations and payment processing of the payment card industry.  Any non-compliant browser or integration that does not support TLS 1.1 or higher, will receive an error message and information will not be transmitted or processed.

This high encryption standard allows you to communicate securely with our website by encrypting (scrambling) all data you supply to us such as personal, business and credit card information. Because it is encrypted at the highest standards, and only understandable between your browser and our server / website, the information is a meaningless jumbled code to anyone else since they do not have the key that unlocks the secret combination. This means that you can be rest assured that shopping on our site is safe and secure.

When making payments offline, we contact you for payment processing details. Once we have collected the details we process this data directly with our merchant accounts or banks that use TLS version 1.1 encryption.

Your payment and personal information is kept on file, temporarily, in a secure location. After the required payment fees, subscription term or purchase has been made, all payment and personal information received is immediately deleted, purged, shredded and not kept on file.

As a standard when purchasing on the Internet, it is important you to protect yourself against unauthorized use of login information, access to your password, and to your computer. You are responsible for maintaining the secrecy of your account password and we assume no responsibility for any claims or damages resultant for someone erasing or altering your account information as a result. It is important for you to protect against unauthorized access to your password and to your computer. Be sure to sign off when finished using a network or shared computer.

All physically shipped goods, data or software products purchased from Geografx Digital Mapping Services are made pursuant to a shipment contract. This means that the risk of loss and title for such items pass to you upon our delivery to the applicable carrier.  Due to the "digital nature" of physically shipped data and software, returns are limited to unopened, unused or uninstalled packages.
